This is the only way to stay in the park. If you try one of the campground outside the park with hookups, you are looking at an hour drive each way. No fun.

Overall, a decent campground. It was our second time staying there. We stayed in early May, avoiding the busy time. Had some luck fishing in their pond, so that was fun. The biggest gripe is that they want to charge $2.50 each day for TV! We spent family time instead. It was nice. We'd stay again.

The price is pretty good considering you get free wifi and cable. Both worked well. It's very close to the park entrance and downtown stuff. The staff was very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

We payed a lot of money for a "premium" waterfront site. It turns out that the lake is very low in October, so the water was about 1/4 mile away. For the amount of money we paid, a sewer hookup would have been nice. Duck hunting season started that week, so it was very loud. The office staff was not overly friendly or helpful. If we travel to the area again, we will likely look somewhere else to stay.

You can't beat staying in the park! As long as you are able to camp self contained, this is the way to go. The sites are all nicely wooded. The campground tends to be crowded during the weekend, but it's worth it. Make sure you check the length of the campsite driveway when you make reservations. Some tend to be short.

This park was nearly as good as the other listings would lead you to believe. We had one problem with our initial campsite, but the management quickly rectified the situation. The biggest problem is the distance from Yosemite. You might think otherwise by reading the website. It takes nearly 30 minutes just to get to the entrance of Yosemite. If you are going to the village, it's at least another 30 minutes. We put over 300 miles on our truck in four days just driving to and from and around Yosemite. Overall, the park was nice.

This actually is now "Craters of the Moon KOA." The Colonel, who had recently sold his park to KOA, was there for a day or two. He already commented that park wasn't quite the way he would have had it if he still owned it. It was the beginning of the season. I'm not a big KOA fan, but this was pretty good. Bathrooms were nice and Wi-Fi was good. I think it would have been great as the Landing Zone.

We stayed in the new full hookups section. It was very nice. The two downsides were the pay showers and the walk to the lake. There other campsite loops right on the water. This one was further. It's the only one with full hookups though. Aside from the $22 a night rate, you have to pay $6 a day entry fee. If you want to be by the water there are other good campsites. This is pretty good if you want full hookups though. We would stay again.
